Alai Mauls Standard Media For Seeking His Opinion About PSCU Being A Government Propaganda Tool
The media and specifically the three major media houses in the country – Standard Media, Nation Media and Royal Media Services – have been on the loggerheads with the government recently following the digital migration debacle that saw some TV stations completely switched off.
While the government maintains that it is time we migrated to digital broadcasting, the three media houses are not ready to embrace this change, citing reasons that they need more time to import their own decorders.
Well, this perhaps explains why they have launched scathing attacks on the government, with the latest being seeking an opinion from blogger Robert Alai over the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU).
Alai says that he received a phone call from the Standard Media asking if he thinks PSCU is a government propaganda tool.
Alai, as expected, took to his social media account to blast Standard Media, saying it is after the media house got held on its balls that they are realizing that PSCU is a government propaganda tool.
Alai says that him and blogger Dikembe Disembe have always said this but media houses saw them as haters. It is at this time that they are realizing they were right and now they are seeking their opinion over the same.
Alai posted:
“Funny that Standard Media just decided to call me today seeking an opinion to cement their already formed opinion that “State House’s PSCU is operating like a Hitler Propaganda machine.”
We (bloggers like me and Seth Odongo) have always stated that the PSCU is not professional on many aspects. But I think that now that the govt has held STD, NMG and RMS by the balls, they have suddenly woken up to the fact that PSCU is a propaganda machine.
Don’t try to objective only when you are held by the balls. Be objective ALWAYS.”
