EXCLUSIVE: NTV, KTN, Citizen And QTV To Go To Court To Seek Permission To Continue With Analogue Broadcasting
It is now emerging that the three media houses battling it out with the Communication Authority of Kenya will be heading to court again to seek permission to continue with analogue broadcasting, a trusted source has revealed to Ghafla Kenya.
In a high profile meeting held yesterday by representatives from the three media houses, it was resolved that the only solution to this debacle is to seek a permission from the same court that ordered the analogue switch off to continue broadcasting through analogue platforms as they embark on bringing in their own set-top boxes.
It was resolved that the three media houses seek permission from the court to be allowed to broadcast analogue for two weeks as they import their own set-top boxes.
The three media houses also resolved to sue Signet for what they term as a blatant infringement of the copyright laws after the company used their content without their permission.
Will the court listen to their plea? Only time will tell.
The three media houses are planning to import their own set-top boxes which users will not be required to pay for after they have purchased them to view tv. Bamba Tv is already doing that.
