Media’s Favourite Political Analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, Tears Into Nation Media. See Why
Revered political scientist, Mutahi Ngunyi, took shots at Nation Media Group (NMG) over the prevailing analogue scuffle.
The three media houses; Nation Media Group (NMG), Royal Media Service (RMS) and Standard Media Group (SMG) are alleging witch hunt in the analogue switchoff.
In a joint press statement, the media houses claimed the government was compelling them to avail their signal to foreign company for distribution.
Following this claim, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi took issues with NMG. He accuses NMG of being hypocrites.
Mutahi sarcastically reminded NMG its founder and principle shareholder, Karim Aga Khan, wasn’t from Kenya.
“Breaking up media monopolies GOOD for Kenya. Giving Monopoly to some Chinese guy BAD for Kenya. But where does Agha Khan come from? Muranga?” Wrote Mutahi.

Nation Media was founded by Karim Aga Khan in 1959. Aga Khan is a British citizen but he was partly raised in Kenya.
