American Missionary Severely Shocked and Disappointed Upon Landing in Kenya. This Is the Rude Shock That Greeted Her

If you ask a large number of Americans about Africa, they will probably say that they think Africa is a down-trodden land where children are dying and people swing from trees like monkeys.

Even 99% of their movies depict Africa as a godforsaken land and the big old U.S.A as Sean Hannity (American television host) would say “the greatest, best country God has ever given man on the face of the earth”

What irks me is just how they refer to Africa as a country instead of a continent, like come on, you guys have 291,114,823 plus internet Users in the U.S.A. 80% of people in your country have access to information on the palm of your hands and Google is just a click away. There is honestly no excuse to be badly informed.

An American missionary whose brain had clearly been brainwashed by the media got the shock of her life when she landed in Kenya and realized that the Kenya she needed to save, did not require saving. In her blog she says  that she was  dressed in her “mission trip clothes” ready to save Kenya and fall in love with it.But her trip to the Junction did not meet her expectation.

She writes:
My heart was prepared for dirt floors.
For dirty laundry hanging everywhere.
For kids that were half naked and covered in bug bites.
People who couldn’t speak English.
not this

Saying that she expected Nairobi to look like it does in the movies with kids reaching out for handouts and she felt discouraged as she felt she could not fall in love with the country because it did not live up to her twisted expectations.

In fact she got into a foul mood because of it saying that :

So, did I fall in love with Nairobi today?
No. But I fell deeper in love with a God who uses all the things, including the safe and affluent, to change my heart.

Why would you be disappointed that a country you thought would suck is actually nice? And who says that you can only save Christians who are poor and down-trodden?I thought the gospel was for everyone regardless of race, color or economic prosperity or lack thereof.
