SAD: Najib Balala Bereaved

About a month after Fidel Odinga’s tragic passing, another politician has lost a loved one. Mining Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala lost his mother yesterday after she went to bed and never woke up.

Rahma bint Saleh breathed her last at the ripe age of 82 at her home in Kizingo estate, Mombasa. Mourners have so far gathered at the Kizingo residence to grieve with the bereaved.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has joined other Kenyans in mourning the late Rahma and eulogizing her in this message shared on Social media

My deepest condolences go out to my brother Hon. Najib Balala – Cabinet Minister for Mining, Taufiq Balala and the entire Balala Family following the tragic loss of his beloved mother. She was a strong and kind woman who raised all her children to become respected members of the society and the country at large.

I am deeply saddened by the news. May God grant you and your family patience and strength in these trying times.

On behalf of the people of Mombasa I would like to extend my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family and may the Almighty give you the comfort and peace that you seek and may the soul of your loved one rest in peace.

We pray that the Almighty accepts all her good deeds.
