The Humble Beginnings Of NTV’s Swahili Anchor, Jane Ngoiri
NTV’s Jane Ngoiri is arguably one of Kenya’s most fluent and talented news anchors to grace our TV news every evening. Many admire he fluency coupled with the choice of her dressing style, something that appeals big time to many viewers.
Jane is arguably the best TV chic that a whole family can sit down and watch and listen to without fear of contradiction or being shamed for dressing a little skimpily. These and many more describe the TV mademoiselle but her beginnings are one very simple and enchanting.
She started off at K24 as an English news reporter until when her fellow Swahili anchor fell sick and she was asked to stand in for them. Surprisingly, this could mark Jane’s turning point as she did exceptionally well and was asked to shift to Swahili.
That is how she started and could later leave K24 in 2011 to work with her current station, NTV. Jane says that her move from K24 to NTV was motivated by her desire for career growth and not money as some people normally want to think.
Jane was born of parents with a Taita origin. She was born and raised in Nairobi West.
This has already been manifested as the cool TV siren demonstrated in her duties on and off air. She is remembered for exposes on Bum Enhancers and Sisters of Death which went viral on social media like a wild fire.
Her academic journey is a testament of a lady who wanted big things for her life. She started off at Kongoni Primary School, then Pangani Girls High School and later joined Daystar University where she studied Journalism.
Her polite nature made many think that she couldnt make it in journalism but her determination and passion for the profession killed the doubts people had. Indeed, determination knows no barrier.
Jane, however, has had her lowest moments in life. This came when she lost her dad to cancer. At the age of 78, Jane’s dad was her best friend, and she stills recalls how she loved him. She lost him on July 4, 2014 and since then life has not been the same. She has however learned to soldier.
The 30 year old TV siren has been dating for quite some time now and she is looking forward to settling down with her long-term fiancee and have two nice children.
She is also planning to start her PR Consultancy Organization where she will mentor upcoming journalist and PR practitioners.
