Citizen TV’s dominance on the screen appears to be tilting in favor of K24 TV as the latter has theoretically overtaken the former if the results from votes cast are anything to go by.

Citizen TV has long dominated the screens of many television sets in the country but now it seems K24 is in a hot pursuit of the top spot as well. For all those having rumbles in their stomach wondering how K24 overtook Citizen TV; well you can relax as it is only at the coast that K24 seems to be having an upper hand against Citizen TV.

Pwani Celebrity Awards are forthcoming and voting has already started; Swahili TV Programme of the Year is the interesting category as K24’s Almasi is leading Citizen TV’s Saida and Habibu in terms of the number of votes casted. (from the time this article was written) Almasi has over 660 votes while Saida is following with slightly over 500 votes. The award seeks to recognize talents from the coastal region and all those TV programs are shot at the coast. So for you can bet Citizen is still retaining its previous rank.
