Nigerian Comedian Pokes Fun At Kenyan Politician For Saying ‘Domestic Violence Is A Sign Of Love’

A bill against domestic violence dubbed The Protection Against Domestic Violence Bill-2013,
was recently tabled in parliament.

It sought to protect people especially women  from marital rape, FGM, defilement, forced wife inheritance, interference from in-laws, virginity testing and physical and psychological abuse among others.

This bill caused a great divide in parliament with some men dismissing it as ‘not fit for our society’ with others calling it a ‘waste of time’ .

But Benson Makali from Kitui Central caught everyone’s attention when he claimed that wife beating should not be abolished as it was a “sign of love” in some cultures.
