After BBC, ‘Dead Beat Kenya’ Makes It To The Washington Post

‘Deadbeat Parent’s is a disapproving term used to refer to parents who do not support their children -especially after divorce.

Most of these parents are usually taken to courts but as you all know the legal system in Kenya is unreliable for lack of a better word. And that is where Facebook Page ‘Deadbeat Kenya’ comes into play. The page which has become more and more popular shares images of parents, mostly fathers who flee from responsibility to their kids

The Dead-Beats are dragged to the ‘streets’ read Dead Beat Kenya and ‘dealt’ with ‘thoroughly’. This is usually done through ridicule and calling out the parents in the hope that the shame received will encourage them to shape up.For the rest of us who do not want to get caught up in the drama,we just watch from the sidelines like this:
