Murder Most Foul: Here Are 5 Ghastly Murder Incidents That Shook the Country (Photos)

Last week Caroline Wanjiru from Embu killed herself and her two children in an arson attack after locking them in a bedroom, dousing the room with petrol and burning them alive.

When neighbors arrived at the scene, they found the charred bodies of Caroline and her two kids, 8-year old Grace Ashley Murugi and 3-year old Paul Macharia.

This story shocked the country to smithereens but as it turns out our country has a gory history of Murders Most Foul and we have gathered 5 of them. Check them out below:

1. The Murder of Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando Mum’s

The brother to Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando was accused of brutally murdering his mum Rose Wachera Mwangi Kabando on July 27, 2014.

40 year old Caesar Thiari is said to have hacked his 70 year old mum to death using a machete in Kaini Village Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County. The victim was found lying in a puddle of blood with her neck slit and with numerous cuts on her hands.

2. Quincy Timberlake Killing His Son with Esther Arunga

Esther Arunga was a shining star in the media before she got dragged into bad company and later married Quincy Timberlake.

They got two kids and in mid 2014, their first born Sinclair died under mysterious circumstances. The couple claimed that their child had died after falling off the stairs while playing with his sibling but the post mortem results proved otherwise. In addition, police documents given to a court during Esther Arunga’s bail hearing further poked holes in their airtight-alibi.

Sinclair’s internal injuries, bruising to his arms and upper body were said to come from Quincy repeatedly punching and squeezing the child’s stomach to rid him of ‘foreign embryos and aliens’ before he forcefully thrust the ill-fated 3 year old against a wall.

After this dreadful incident, Sinclair was given a shower, clothed and left on his bed and was later pronounced dead when paramedics  arrived at the Timberlake’s Kallangur house.

3. Paul Magu Kills His Family Then Kills Himself

In 2014, three children Tiffany, Ryan and Allen disappeared only to be found dead, their bodies badly mutilated and the nation impulsively recoiled in horror at the fate that had befallen these kids.

As the story goes, Paul Magu a lawyer, murdered his wife and children, doused their bodies with acid then jumped in front of moving vehicles at Thika-Garissa highway and just like that, a young family was gone.

4. Woman Cuts Off Baby’s Tongue

In February this year, residents of Kanguruwe slum in Kayole were left shell-shocked after a woman cut off her 6-month-old son’s tongue and pulled out his intestines in a bid to exorcise demons during an overnight prayer session.

Irene Mbithe was heard praying and shouting ‘pepo toka’ and hours later woke up her relative Catherine Muthama telling her that the demons had defeated the child and wanted to kill the child.

Muthama found Mbithe holding the baby’s tongue which later went missing. The incident was even more bizarre after the baby’s intestines were found in a washing powder tin.

5. Woman Stabs Boyfriend 22 Times                  

Ruth Wanjiru Kamande stabbed her boyfriend Farid Mohammed to death in Buruburu last year after he found a suggestive message from another lady in his phone.

Farid passed away after suffering from 22 stab wounds on his back, stomach, chest and neck. Wanjiru then allegedly tried killing herself by stabbing herself in the stomach and her hands.
