Cynthia Nyamai Speaks On Her Divorce Experience.
Divorce is a fairly new thing in African society and many people do not know how to deal with it.When a divorce happens its more often than not that fingers are pointed at the woman .Former presenter and mogul Cynthia Nyamai talks about her divorce experience in the August issue of Drum Magazine.
‘Divorce is the most painful thing you can ever go through.I have had close relatives and friends die. This pain is worse. There are things I should have understood about myself first.I talked about it in my first interview with True Love and said society won’t tell me I am a bad woman because I was divorced.I was wrong. It happened to me its a very painful process
Cynthia further adds ‘I went through severe depression .Doctors could not figure out what was wrong.I would be up all night,no sleep and so many questions’
So how did she deal with all the pain?At first she resorted to guzzling alcohol and cough syrup but with time she found a positive result-oriented way of coping with her divorce and joined Alabastron.
Alabastron is an organization that helps women cope with difficult emotional situations and overcome self defeating patterns through building self-esteem and self awareness and confidence.
She now says that she is a happy person and has learned that one should learn to forgive, not for someone else but yourself.
