Mbusii Reveals All, Tells Us About His Struggle To Make It Including The Madharau At Ghetto Radio!

Mbusii is a household name now. However, a couple of years he was a true street hustler complete with having run-ins with the cops. I get the impression that means he was a thief… Then again my sheng is only slightly better than my Igbo so i wouldn’t know too well what was being said.

And that’s not what’s important. What is however is the fact that he was recently interviewed by Jimmy Gathu for K24 and he opened up. he spoke about his rags to riches story including being and actor at Kenya national Theatre to selling soup to the thug life which included trouble with “ma-bangers” which the street savvy i have accumulated tells me are cops, so named because of the guns they carry.

Anyway, what caught my attention was when he was telling Jimmy about the “madharau” (spite) he faced when he was on his come-up at Ghetto Radio by his colleagues who were feeling threatened. Apparently, because he was bucked up and ashy, said colleagues would spray “Doom!” in the studio when he left.

“Una cheza na raia?” asked Mbusi when Jimmy asked astonished that people would do that.

He also spoke about how humiliating it was for him when he was dropped from his radio gig to being the messenger. Ouch! He equates it to being dropped from being the president to being a chief! For 2 and a half years and he used to earn 3,000/-!
