In the Forest: Could Gerald Langiri Be The Kenyan Kassem G?

Actor Gerald Langiri has launched a new web series called “In The Forest.” The theme of the comedy series is that Gerald calls celebrities for interviews, then proceeds to bombard them with the most awkward questions and callous behaviour. The audience gets to marvel at the ensuing hilarious reactions.

This style is heavily influenced by another YouTube interviewer named Kassem G. Kassem is one of the most followed personalities on YouTube, and his interviews are conducted in a very similar fashion to what Gerald is trying to achieve. Kassem G is incredibly successful, having come from recently winning a Streamy award for best webshow host. The only difference is that Gerald’s show is staged while Kassem’s isn’t. Having been a Kassem G follower for the better part of 4 years, I couldn’t help but notice the borrowed bits in the Kenyan version, but I must say, I still caught a few laughs watching Lizz Njagah squirm in her seat.
