The boost that afro Jazz singer and TV show host got Kaz got from Eve Ensler will be used to shoot more episodes of her African Woman series. Read about that here.
The singer is currently looking for other women to feature in her series. The theme for the next batch is “one billion rising” or “until the violence stops.” Kaz is trageting women who have been exposed to any kind of violence. She further explains what she is looking for.
– Women who have been surrounded by violence in any way or of any kind. From the household to the work place. It may have happened to someone you know and affected either you personally or a whole community. It may have happened to a sibling or a parent or a friend.
– I’m looking for women who can discuss sexual abuse, whether it happened to them or someone close to them.
– Women who have been personally affected by the post election violence. Anyone who lost someone during that time.
– Women who can talk about sexual and physical abuse during the post election violence.
– University students who get affected by the constant student riots and have either physically or sexually been abused at this time.
“The fields of interviewing are large and I am open to anyone who has a broader view. Let me know if you or anyone you know is willing to speak. The specifications are: you must be a Kenyan woman. I know it’s a hard topic to discuss, but we must put the word out there, name and shame and prevent this from happening to our kids.”
The 15 women selected for the interviews will be involved in a two-day shoot on the 22nd and 23rd of October. If you are interested, contact the production on Kenyanwoman2012@gmail.com
