Now A Kenyan Makes It To The African Player Of The Year Shortlist (Full List)

This has been the year of winning for Kenyan athletes and artistes and the accolades just keep on coming and now the spotlight falls on football. Even with the federations stuck in doldrums, the best players have been shining and now Victor Wanyama exploits for club and country have seen him get nominated for the African accolade the second time.

Victor Wanyama is part of a 37 man shortlist that includes the four time back to back winner Yaya Toure, Christian Atsu and Andre Ayew both from Ghana, Yannick Bolasie of Crystal Palace and Congo as well as Sadio Mane from Senegal in a star studded list. The list will further be trimmed to 10 by next month and later on to three invited to the ceremony. Here is the full list;
