Why Prezzo Deserves to Win Big Brother Stargame

When Prezzo was revealed as one of the Kenyan representatives for this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa, he trended on the Kenyan Twitter space. Not for good reasons, though. The sentiments were almost unanimous, most people did not think the rapper deserved the chance to represent the country.

90 days after he enetered the house, he is undoubtedly Kenya’s best representative since the first Big Brother a decade ago. If not by character, at least by the longevity. He is now the only Kenyan who has made it to the end. The first one who gave Kenya a chance to vote for their own winner. Unlike previous representatives, where all we did is try to save them from eviction.

Some may say that Prezzo has not represented the country well, in terms of character. He was less than classy when he put Barbz on the spot, chiding her about things that may have been out of control: her looks, marital status and age. He even recently, in a drunken stupor, threatened to kill Keagan.

His conduct is debatable. Sometimes unexcusable. But it is undoubtable that he has always been entertaining. His actions may seem childish and random, but delving deeper, it looks like he has been playing the game. He seemed self destructive but has kept off the mandatory eviction axe that fell on the likes of DKB and Zainab. Even with his constant fighting, verbal abuse and even threatening to leave voluntarily, he has somehow survived till the end.

Has anyone ever gotten so close to the edge but somehow kept himself in in the history? As entertaining as it was, his recent fight with Keagan may have had fans on the edge hoping it doesn’t get far enough to get Prezzo evicted. In my opinion, Prezzo always knew what he was doing, even when he was drunk. He was one of the people that stoppedd the Zainab/DKB altercation from getting worse (or better for TV).

Some say Lady May deserves to win. To a certain extent, I agree. Lady May is entertaining and looks like an obvious underdog, considering she has kept off everyone else’s path. No one has looked less desperate to win, maybe more than Prezzo even.

So, does she deserve to win because she’s a loner? Or looney? Prezzo played the game, she just lived in the house. Prezzo provided some of the show’s best moments (at least the ones that could not get him kicked out) and has made it further than anyone imagined. Lady May is just fascinating.

No one deserves to win more than another in a competition that does not have any artistic merits. Where anyone can win, from fairly unpopular (Cherise) and very controversial (Richard). Prezzo has changed people’s perceptions of him without changing himself. It’s not like we have seeen a Prezzo, we have just seen more of him. Everyday. And he is about to come back. Why not be hopeful that he can come back with the prize?!
