Was Zainab Guilty Of Provoking DKB Beyond His Limit?

So DKB slapped Zainab on Big Brother Africa yesterday, and they BOTH got disqualified from the competition immediately as a result. This has led to people having the age-old debate of whether someone who is provoked into violent action is guilty or not.

When we look at Zainab, the BBA Stargame contestant from Sierra Leone, we see a woman who has had a history of provoking her male counterparts and really testing their patience. Earlier in the game, she had got into a spat where she was allegedly slapped by Seydou. She retaliated by calling Seydou’s mother a whore.(Click here to see the whole video). Seydou kept his cool despite such a harsh jibe. However, he told Zainab that were it not for the cameras, he would have beaten her for that.

Fast forward to the events of yesterday, Zainab riled DKB up by spying on him when he was showering, an act he found rather juvenile. When he confronted her about it, Zainab reacted by daring him to slap her. “Slap me now, slap me know,” she said repeatedly. He duly obliged, and gave her a slap that knocked the glasses off of her face.

Seeing these facts presented, it begs the question, was DKB provoked beyond an acceptable limit, and does it mean that when someone annoys and incites another to hit them, it’s OK when the person gets hit? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:
