KBC striking workers fired

It’s now official that striking KBC workers have been fired from today.

The National broadcaster has advertised the positions of the striking workers in the national dailies.

The permanent secretary of information Dr. Bitange Ndemo confirmed that the striking workers will receive their termination letters today if they do not report to work.

The KBC staff said that they will not be intimidated by the government and that the strike will continue until their grievances are met.

We hope the government will sit down with the workers and agree on a returning to work formula with the workers instead of threatening to lay them off. What the workers are fighting for is genuine and it’s also their constitutional right as employees to demand for better pay and good working conditions.
