The 2014 Annual Tourism Travel & Hospitality Conference Is Here
The ANNUAL TOURISM TRAVEL& HOSPITALITY CONFERENCE 2014 is a unique conference put together by the Events Affairs Kenya Limited & Diamond Media in-conjunction with other stakeholders.
These include; Kenyatta International Conference Centre, KTB ,Ministry Of East African Affairs Commerce & Tourism, Kenya Invest, , Immigrations Dept. among other partners, who have come together to take part in the upcoming Conference which will take place from May 21st – 22nd , 2014.
This conference is the first of its kind to be held in the country. The Tourism Industry in Kenya is known to be the highest income generating, In her recent State of the Nation address, Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs Commerce & Tourism Phyllis Kandie stated that tourism in the country has gone down by 7% due to the various challenges the sector is experiencing including terrorists attacks, poaching of our wildlife, weak institutions and tough business environment. This two day Conference at Kenyatta International Conference Centre(KICC) seeks to bring together stakeholders drawn from various sectors including the Government, Business Owners, Business Mentors & Advisors, Manufactures & Suppliers of various brands, Hoteliers, Real Estate Developers, Banking Institutions, County bosses among others to dialogue on current programs, and policies that are run by Government, Civil Societies and other stakeholders in the tourism industry in promoting Tourism in Kenya.
The key objective is to ;
- Provide a forum for international and local tourism organizations working in Kenya to share experiences and lessons learnt From their programs in relation to emerging issues in the tourism & hospitality industry.
- Increase the capacity of delegates to introduce, implement, and advocate for effective and sustainable tourism management Amidst the emerging trends i.e Terrorism, Poaching, High taxation rate.
- Have a forum for researchers and programmers to share new findings tourism related issues.
- Influence leaders, key policy makers and investors to increase their commitment to tourism sustainability
