When he accused Kenzo of stealing his lyrics, many thought he was a non-starter looking for some platform but he has proven he is here to stay. This is Bassil Khamala.
The ever smiling Bassil Khamala has surely gotten round to proving his worth musically. With his debut album, Bassil has undoubtedly shown that his life experiences songs are alive and well, and has gained a place of prominence on Kenya’s music scene.
Bassil comes from a family of five siblings, born to Mrs. Margaret Nelima and the late Mr. Ainea Wambulwa. He always loved to sing because he was born with it. He grew up listening to artists like Psquare, Michael Jackson, Oliver Mtukudzi,2face Idibia, R Kelly and Jose Chameleon.

He started his music career in 2005, recorded songs in Mombasa and Uganda And in 2012 he was signed in Evolution media and sound LTD.He is currently working on his first album. Songs Recorded so far include: Smile, Dabodabo, Mama, Fika Salama, Nina reason among others.
Signed by Evolution media And sound LTD. He has just released his new video “Nina Reason”Some time this week.The video features the famous“Inspector Sikujua” of the famous local drama series“Tahamaki” which was a household name in the 90s. He will be doing a number of collaborations with artistes from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Watch out for big things this year!
Having been nominated as the brand ambassador for Road safety in the Fika Salama campaign sponsored by different organizations in the Transport industry including Safaricom. Bassil will be doing shows across the country sensitizing the stakeholders through the program. He believes in mentorship. He has looked up to people both far and near. His favorite ones being the director of Evolution Media,Patrick Simekha, Michael Sindani, Henry Kunusia and Andrew Munyagwa.
