Daddy Owen Turns Down Kisima Award & Kshs. 2M Prize

And that’s even before the ceremony. Daddy Owen is at it again. The artiste is really popular in the gospel and secular circles. And popularity comes with awards, which the singer doesn’t seem to want.

He once won a Groove Award which he decided to share with Juliani as he accepted it. Now, the singer has been nominated for the recently announced Kisima Awards. After the announcement, Daddy Owen even considered withdrawing from the awards to make way for new artistes, like his collborator on Mbona.

“I thank my fans 4the support uv shwn me 4yrs!!Ths year dnt wanna participate in any awards,i wana raise new talent like Denno @KisimaAwards…i wish they cud nominate Denno instead… He deserves it.“

Daddy Owen has been nominated for Artiste of the Year, which comes with a Kshs. 2 million cash prize. After consulting with his fans, Daddy Owen then decided to stay in the race but to give his award and Kshs. 1 million to Denno and the rest to the Mbona Campaign should he win:

“Verdict frm my fans! If i win the awards i gv to Denno n dedicate them to #mbonaCampaign, if i win the 2m i gv Denno 1m n the other 1m goes to #mbonaCampaign.”

Mbona has also been nominated for Collabo of the Year, Best Gospel, Best Reggae and Music Video of the Year.
