GHAFLA REQUEST: Please Stop Posting Tribal Hate Speech On Ghafla!

We at Ghafla have been noticing a rather alarming trend. There has been a sharp spike in people posting tribal hate speech whether thinly veiled, outright or subliminal on our site: the comment section, the Facebook page or tweeting us.

While at first it was negligible enough for us to not consider it a big deal, it spiked when we begun working for TNA. And i feel that i being the most devil-may-care member of the team, i need to clarify somethings:

For starters, we are politically ambivalent. Ghafla as an entity is apolitical. Whether the members of the team are pro this or pro that, they are expected to keep it to themselves. While we do discuss politics in the office, we do not carry our political leaning into our various assignment.

Secondly, Ghafla is an ethnically and nationally diverse entity. The one common factor is that we all love God. To put it plainly, i’m tired of reading comments insulting Kikuyus or Luos. Take your ignorance elsewhere. I work with Kenyans from all around Kenya and i work with Africans from all across Africa. When the ignorance and bigotry spewed on our pages offends Chege, you offend me. When your comments offend and insult Omondi, they anger me. Afterall, all that matters here at the office is the fact that Super Eagles will drab Kenya’s Harambee Stars so mercilessly! We will teach you fotball!

This is the one and only time i send my time telling off those posting hate speech. After this, i’ll begin reporting all of you to the police. Kenya is one nation. It is greater than any tribal affiliations. Learn to live together because the next man owns Kenya just as much as you do!
