5 Reasons Why Changes Is The Hottest Club On Electric Ave!

There are a couple of things that are basic to any pub or club. Somethings as they say are just elementary: alcohol, a toilet and music. However, some things heighten the clubbing experience to be had.

Unfortunately, such qualities are rarities in Kenyan clubs. Far too often you’ll hit a club that has afforded you the bare minimum they could afford to give. Don’t get me wrong, you have no right to complain that your local is threadbare at best or that the keg bar you frequent only has benches for it’s clients.

But the thing about Changes is that they have decided to do what they can to heighten the rave experience. They have gotten the factors i am referring to down to a science. And here’s why i feel they are the new IT club in Westlands -well, atleast on Thursdays at any rate.

#5. Ambience

The Changes team sought to create an atmosphere that makes you comfortable enough to spend your hard earned money. The waitresses are dressed so as to entice you to buy from them and the ambience is relaxed. When you check into the club you see that everything is relaxed and polite so your brain automatically kicks into chill mode. None of that rushed feel you’ll experience at Off-Road!

#4. Prices

The prices aren’t exhorbitant either. I remember stepping out to Off-Road on New Year’s (actually i was too drunk to protest and so i found myself being dragged there). When i was sober after dancing for what seemed like an eternity, i elected to have a beer. They sell their beers at 250/- a pop! In a club that plays reggae from 1am? What in heaven’s name has possessed these fools? 250/-?! For crying out loud, at that price i’d rather head out to Volar or add a bit on the top and hit Sankara’s rooftop!

But not at Changes! Here on Thursday you can get beers at 135/- if you spend 400 seeing as you’ll get 3 beers. Johnie Walker, Tequila and Vodka atots go at 100/= all night! And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then fret not,  Zappa is sold at @ 50 a shot.

#3. Security

The security here is friendly! Who ever thought i’d say the words Kenyan bouncer and friendly in the same sentence? And i don’t mean friendly to the regulars alone either! I witnessed bouncers help a smashed patron out of the bar. They didn’t slap him or anything as violent as that. Actually, the lad felt free to ask them for support when he was asked to leave. Talk about friendly security!

#2. No old foggies

Am i the only one who feels that Kenyans above 27 should be at home in bed with their families? Old foggies have a way of clogging up a club. They are loud, belligerent and constantly whining about the music. But not at Changes. Here the crowd is young. Those above 27 are cool peoples! They came out to have fun and that’s that.

OLD FOGGIES

#1. Music

Have you had the one about the club promoter, bar-tender and deejay arguing? If you haven’t you’re using the internets all wrong! When the deejay packs up and leaves, the patrons will soon follow. Changes has sick mixes from Kaytrixx. He keeps the party going! What more can you ask for?

Take me up on my challenge and hit Changes this Thursday and see if i’ll be proved wrong!
