KWANI? OPEN MIC RELOADED

If you love poetry, don’t miss Kwani? Open Mic Reloaded tonight at Club Soundd on Kaunda Street between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The event will feature poetry, music and a special book reading, all for a Kshs. 200 entrance fee. The event will be emceed by Cindy Ogana, a poet and radio presenter with Hot 96.

There will be poetry by Angela Wambui Muiruri, the 2010-2011 Miss Kenya USA winner and founder of My Africa is Beautiful. She is involved in a host of other cultural and empowerment projects for Africans and the youth.

Musical performances will be by rapper and poet, Jemedari and Trifecta. Binyavanga Wainaina will read an excerpt from his recently launched book, One Day I Will Write About This Place, which is getting positive reviews across the literary world. The Kwani? editor will be promoting his book, which was launched on June 1st at the Railway Museum.
