STL To Perform in Mombasa

Kenyan-International artiste Stella Mwangi (a.k.a STL) will be performing in Mombasa this coming easter.

The musician, with past mega hits like ‘Hula Hoop’ and ‘Lookie Lookie’, will be the main act of the ‘Wet and Wild’ easter event in Mombasa’s Wild Waters, Il Covo on the 7th of April 2012.

STL rose to fame from her first album, Maroon, which was a collaboration with an African group called ‘The Rise’ in the late 90s. Her family had moved to Norway as political refugees when she was barely seven, and her father was determined not to let his children lose touch with their roots by teaching them Kikuyu and Kiswahili.

When her music started getting played on MTV and Channel O, and she began doing warm up acts for world reknowned artistes at concerts in Norway, she finally got to represent Norway at a continental contest.

As she performs at Wet & Wild, revellers will also listen to the DJs Republic do what they do best, with an enhanced dance arena and water effects promising to make this Easter a killer.

Charges are Kshs. 1,000 advance and Kshs. 1,200 at the gate. The event kicks off at 6.00pm.
