“Groove Awards Is Worse Than Witches…As The Run With Their Nakedness In Daylight” Angry Gospel Industry Big Wig Lashes At Groove Awards

Only Daddy Owen and Pitson deserve to be awarded in the incoming Groove Awards. That is according to a clearly annoyed Sadat Muhindi who is the director of Maliza Umasikini.

The organization acts as a talent SPORTING and nurturing organization whose biggest artiste Papa Dennis. However, Sadat is quick to distinguish that his gripe with the awards is not because Papa Dennis was not nominated but rather a disappointment at the general way they carry out their undertakings and what he sees as the selective process that sees upcoming and more deserving artistes left out year in year out.

He however, feels Papa Dennis did deserve a nomination either for the Wonder album or for a number of songs. “Papa’s video ft Korede Bello, Wonder, is clean and should have been nominated. If Groove felt “it is not Gospel enough”, then they should have nominated ‘Foundation’ because Daddy Owen is featured and has been nominated for an award.”

He goes on to dismiss Groove Awards standing saying it has become a business before dismissing the people behind it as worse and brazen in their deeds saying “Groove is worse than witches that are decent during the day but at night they run naked. In Groove’s case, they don’t even try to hide their ills”

He singles out Kimdanny as an artist who has been performing consistently and well but is hardly recognized by even a nomination once. To young artistes he says they should not turn the Awards into an idol as others have done but rather they should keep on working as recognition will come from elsewhere he says and cites the example of Papa Dennis’ song Foundation which he says made it to the top charts in the UK.
