Kericho Police Comander finally acts on the incident caught on camera of a female traffic police officer assaulting a motorist. This is what is going to happen to her
Social media went ablaze yesterday after a viral video of a female traffic police officer assaulting a motorist hit the interwebs.
The shocking incident which has been established happened in Brooke area; a short distance from Kericho town involved a traffic officer assaulting the motorist in the full glare of the public.
She’s seen shoving and pushing her around while hurling all manner of words at her something which clearly goes against the code of conduct of police service.

According to reports which went hand in hand with the video, the lady motorist had surpassed the speed limit in the area which apparently is supposed to be 50KM/hr. Upon stoppage, she asked for proof that she was speeding and that is when the police officer went berserk and started attacking her.
Kericho police commander has since come out to speak on the matter and he has promised to take action. To start with, he’s promised to ensure proper investigations are done to establish exactly what happened and in that regard release the report to the public.
Secondly, he has also interdicted the police officer until the investigations are done. Here is the official message:
My attention has been drawn to video clips circulating in social media showing a lady motorists being physically harassed by a female police officer. Upon receipt of the same, I instituted investigations into the incident. The initial information is that the incident occurred on 1/1/2017 at about 3.00pm near Brooke area, a short distance from Kericho town. The lady motorist had been flagged down by our traffic officers for exceeding speed in an area with a designated speed of 50kph. An argument arose between the officer and the motorist disputing the same which unfortunately turned into what we have seen. An inquiry file has been opened to clearly establish the circumstances of the incident and our findings will be made public and appropriate action will be taken against anybody found to be on the wrong. Meanwhile, the concerned officer has been interdicted from duty in order to pave way for investigations.
