After Her Tony Nomination, Lupita Nyong’o Dazzles With Her First Award On Broadway (Photo)

In 2013, Lupita played the role of Patsey a slave in 12 Years a Slavea harrowing movie which earned her first Oscar.

After this award, many expected Lupita to chase blockbusters but she decided to keep it simple with a few big screen movies before hitting Broadway for Eclipsed’.

Eclipsedis a story about the day to day lives and struggles of five women caught up in Liberian Civil War.The play earned itself six Tony nominations while Lupita earned a nomination in the Best Actress in a Leading Rolecategory.

While she waits to see if she will be coming home with an award during the Tony Awards, Lupita has gotten a nod at the 72nd Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony where she bagged a trophy for her outstanding debut on Broadway.
