Citizen TV Goes Shopping In Iran As Anne Kiguta Takes A Break
Royal Media Services affiliate Citizen TV has announced major editorial changes as the station positions itself ahead of the next year’s polls in a move that will see former news anchors and continuity show host make grand returns to the screen.
Popular trending Power Breakfast show will embrace new faces as the station ropes in former Kiss TV news presenter and one time Ebru TV’s Sugar and Spice show host Joy Muthengi to replace Kirigo Ng’arua who has since stamped her authority on Lunch time news.
Uduak Amimo,the Cheche show moderator and Hussein Mohammed will now sit in for Anne Kiguta who has taken her maternity leave. Uduak moved to the Dennis Pritt based television in 2012 after her successful stint at BBC. She has been lauded as one of the best political debate moderators and is highly expected to bring in her wealth of experience to the ever heated Opinion Court debates every Thursday. Hussein Mohammed moves to Sunday Live.
The station has also sought the services of Iran based long time Swahili Editor Salim Swaleh to beef up Nipashe Wikendi.Salim until last week was the special analyst on African News and editor at Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) affiliate, Press TV. He is expected to take over from the all time Citizen TV duo Lulu Hassan and Kanze Dena.
Citizen TV came under fierce criticism after sacking reporters Kendagor Obadiah and Eveline Wambui in what many viewed as inside politics.The two have since been replaced.
