Horror As Sacco Chairman Is Killed And Family Sprayed With Acid

A shocking incident happened in Nyamira County leaving residents shocked. A Sacco chairman was attacked in his home and shot dead while his family was sprayed with acid and left to die by assailants.

The attack is said to be a spillover from disputes at the Sacco which had just done its elections and the deceased man had been re-elected as Chairman. Geoffrey Kamonde was shot dead at his home in Bokeira Village in Nyamira County and his body left at the door stop. His wife Jemima and four children were sprayed with acid and locked in a room left to die.

Neighbors who rushed to the scene after hearing the gun shots and screams helped rush the victims to hospital but the wife succumbed to the injuries and died. The doctors said the condition of the others was critical as they had 40 to 60 percent burns and doctors are fighting to save their lives.
