Choppers and Okoa Kenya Aside, Here Is Raila Odinga’s New Radical 2017 Election Stunt That Could Be The Ultimate Game Changer
Whatever you think of him, there is no denying the genius of Raila Odinga’s political nous. His longevity in the game, ability to survive self-sabotaging gaffes and mastery of brinkmanship are all proof of this.
However, never has he ever faced the danger of being irrelevant with the times as currently. To curb this he has been forced to come up with a number of strategies and initiatives but none beats his recent one; the launch of a newspaper.
ODM think tanks have come up with the idea of a newspaper to counter what it perceives as slant newspaper coverage the government receives from the major dailies.
The newspaper is called The Kenyan Weekly and will be published every Friday. The newspaper is meant to provide a voice for the opposition especially given that aside from the two leading media houses being favorable to the regime in place due to adverts, the other major paper People is by Kenyatta family owned Mediamax which has been seen to push Jubilee’s agenda.
The Kenyan Weekly will be launched on November 16th but it has already hit the streets. It has been selling like hot cake especially in opposition strongholds and there are fears it could affect the sales of other papers in those regions.
There are allegations that certain vendors have been ‘warned’ against stocking the newspaper. Whatever happens, this is bound to be a great strategy if implemented well.
