‘I Was Willing To Be A Tea Girl At KTN.’ Citizen Prime News Anchor Janet Mbugua Reveals

Janet Mbugua is now recognized as a reputable news anchor, a trendsetting award winner and a philanthropist known for fighting for the rights of women through Inua Dada.

But before she catapulted to fame on Citizen TV and went on to become one of the most popular news anchors in the country, Janet revealed that she started from the bottom. And she was willing to start even as a tea girl in order to one day grasp her dream job, which was; becoming a prime time news anchor.

Janet observed that most young people do not want to start from the bottom and want it all easy, but success is never effortless you have to start from somewhere and work your way up.

Be ready to start from the bottom, this is very hard for a lot of young people to stomach nowadays. When I was taking my audition tape to KTN I was willing to start by serving tea and I really meant that. I told them I was willing to do anything as long as I got my footing. she disclosed.
