After The Switch Off, Yvonne Okwara, Sheila Mwanyigha and Julie Gichuru Meet With The First Lady at State House

Over the weekend, Citizen TV, KTN, NTV and its sister station QTV were turned off after failing to go digital.

This came after the three media giants lost after waging a fierce battle against digital migration. Four days on, the TV stations are still unavailable and the media houses have taken to live webcasts of their show, which are accessible to a tiny number of the population as internet bundles are costly.

Many Kenyans who do not have internet access have been wondering what the anchors and other TV presenters have been doing since they are not on air.

As it turns out, the beautiful ladies are hard at work, training for the First Lady’s half marathon that is expected to begin in 17 Days. Among those training include Janet Mbugua, Yvonne Okwara, Julie Gichuru, Blogger Sharon Mundia, Smriti Vidyarthi and Sheila Mwanyigha .

Sharon (This is Ess) wrote this caption alongside the picture above “Just finished an EPIC 6km #RunWithTheFirstLady alongside some of the most hardworking & incredible women in media! Didn’t think I’d make it past the warm up exercises but seeing the First Lady breeze through it all was so inspiring. It would be pretty awesome if you supported this fantastic cause – The Beyond Zero Campaign – by signing up on the website (www.beyondzero.or.ke) and participating in the run. #IAmBeyondZero @capitalfmkenya #Grateful
