While Kenyans are celebrating Sauti Sol’s nomination for the admired BET Awards, Tanzanians have literally won the award already. One of their own is only 42 days shy of bringing the converted trophy to Bongo.
The moment Diamond Platnumz’s name didn’t appear on BET list, Best International Act: Africa, everybody thought Sauti Sol were the only East Africa act representing the region.

Many didn’t bother going through the whole list, if they did they would have noticed a Tanzanian supermodel was also featured somewhere on the list.
This year’s edition of the award has seen the addition of a new category altogether. Bet Global Good Award has been added to the list and it’s Tanzanians that were the beneficiaries of the extra category added.

Millen Magese (Tanzania)
Millen Magese, a supermodel from Bongo, is the only nominee on the category. What does that tell you?
Come June 30th (when the award gala will be taking place), Magese will be lifting the trophy, she is the only nominee who is sure of winning.
The Tanzanian beauty queen is a world-renown fashion model and a humble humanitarian. The former Miss Tanzania has a knack for helping the less fortunate in society.
Magese is found of lending her time and talent to making a difference in the lives of the disadvantaged through her significant contributions to charities such as the Tanzania Education Trust, African Rainforest Conservancy, and the MacDella Cooper Foundation.
It’s her contribution to charity that has earned her a spot on BET Awards 2015.
