Alisha Popat Smashes the Record for Most YouTube Hits by a Kenyan Artiste

Alisha Popat is a girl of many firsts. After becoming the first Kenyan artist to sing alongside Zolani Mahola of South African afro-pop group, Freshly Ground and US YouTube celebrity Peter Hollens in the re-make of Leonard Cohen’s super famous ‘Hallelujah’, Alisha is yet again reached another milestone.

You will remember that she recently featured American violinist, dancer, performance artist, and composer, Lindsey Stirling in remaking Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ and as expected the upshot was epic! With Lindsey’s experience in combining violin playing with hip hop and dub-step; and Alisha’s high range and smoky voice, this song just stands out with the video shot in the heart of the Mara.

Thanks to the two ladies’ talents this video has smashed the record for most YouTube views for a music video by a Kenyan, hitting over 13 million views! And you wonder why Alisha is full of surprises.
