I can’t even start to imagine how many calls, emails and even walk ins we get in the office from aspiring artists and DJ’s who are keen to put themselves out there. They come promising a whole lot of talent, prowess and professionalism but we can only go far in drawing a conclusion.
Considering we are only 20 guys in the office, probably our judgment is more often than not misconstrued and thus for the first time we are giving them a platform to showcase their skill set to hundreds and hundreds of people.
It’s not us per say but Sawa Sawa festival which is now on its 9th edition giving them this rare opportunity. Bound to go down on the 19th of this month, they have organized a Sawa Sawa cypher and turn table session where upcoming cats can have fun and draw their credibility from the public. This will under the skilled hands of DJ Sejo right before Abass Kubaff and the likes of DJ Kace take up the mantle during the evening.
Sawa Sawa Festival will be held between the 16th and 19th March 2016 at the Sarakasi Dome-Ngara and true to the spirit of celebrating our homegrown talent, this year’s theme will be focusing on Sarakasi Trust’s 15 year’s journey in supporting the local performing talent and giving the youths an opportunity for exposure on the Sawa Sawa platform.
