Avril Finally Drops Her Best Kept Secret. I Swear You Never Saw This Coming!

If you think you know everything there is to know about Kenya’s top diva Avril, think again. It seems that Avril has a lot to say…if you ask the right questions.

The curvy singer was recently on Zinga La Asubuhi on Radio Taifa where she was asked to address the rumors spreading faster than bush fire on social media, a report that she had gotten saved.

But Avril says that shouldn’t be news before going ahead and dropping something that we all did not know, that she has been saved for quite a long time!

“Avril aliokoka kitambo sana” she says “My mum is a pastor I’ve grown up in a religious family “she adds before claiming that the story about her salvation was over sensationalized.

When Christina called me I was very humbled, I was surprised that she knew my name since I’m a huge fan of Christina “she says .So she was pretty honored when Christina called her and asked her if she wanted to be prayed for. She figured there is nothing wrong with getting prayed for so she complied, and before she knew it the blogs and other media forms had run with the story like a baton in an Olympic track meet.

So why hasn’t Avril been open about her salvation some of you wonder out loud. The reason for all this is pretty simple; her Christianity is very personal to her. Arguing that if it were not for God, she couldn’t have handle the pressure that comes with the music industry, the scandals, gossip etcetera.

“It is by God’s strength I’m in this industry, if I didn’t have inner strength from God I would have ulcers or even commit suicide.” she says.

What does she have to say that the expectations that if you are save then you have to do Gospel Music? She says we should not expect her to cross over to gospel industry since she believes Gospel is a ministry, if you don’t have it in your then you should not do it.
