Awinja Of Papa Shirandula Getting Cozy With A Jamaa! (Photos)
It was like walking down an African jungle, flanked side by side by two lions, listening to the austere sounds of the water as it trickled downstream, It was like listening to the chirping of the birds at the mara,It was heavy, It was crazy, the whole house was on fire! It was like watching African women, their hot curvaceous bodies glistening in the hot African sun. The true African experience.
It was the Afro-fusion nite at the Black diamond in westlands, we had been invited by the former miss Kenya, Juliet Ochieng, an afro-fusion artist of renown and a beauty to behold. Apparently her husband is part owner of the joint and a director, Dorothy Oliech founder of Mochez Models, Cheptoek Boyo Writer and Choreographer, Idi Aziz a singer and Juliet Achieng a singer and former miss Kenya are the concept owners and have parnered with Black Diamond to bring Afro Fusion Tuesdays happening twice a month. Yester nightthe headlining act was Winyo. They were looking to have a mature crowd grace the event to a night of African entertainment at its best. The fortnightly event gets to celebrate different artists from within the county by offering them a chance to perform to a crowd that can associate with the music. The crowd fell from the age of late 20’s to infinity, it was not one of those events that you walk in to and you are assaulted by a ghastly view of teenage delinquents twerking and gyrating in reckless abandon. It was a grown folks event.
Wilbroda, Jalang’o, Awinja, Habida and Susan Owiyo were some of the celebrities who showed up at the event, they sampled an African haute cuisine, relaxed with a variety of drinks, and when the fun music frm the dj kicked in they let it all go at the dance floor!
Here are some of the photos from the event:
