Beautiful, Charming And Talented. Here Are Six Lady Anchors That Have Made Kenyan TV Better When They Switched From Radio (Photos)

Making the move from radio to TV at times seems to set the career trajectory for many journalists who start from radio.

However, it is not always smooth nor is success guaranteed. However, there are those who have walked these treacherous waters and come out shining. Six ladies have done so and audiences have been forever grateful that they dared for something different. They have not only graced the screen with their skill and lovely voices, but they have always granted the lovely smile and beauty the TV screen would have been poorer without their switch. Here they are:

Julie Gichuru

Right now she is considered an icon and even a pioneer in some facets but she wasn’t that much a big deal when she made the step up from Capital FM, her work saw her moving through all the major TV stations from KTN, to NTV, Citizen and now KBC where she hosts her program, African Dialogues.

Ann Kiguta

Ann Kiguta is also another of a quite a huge pool of journalists who cut her teeth at Capital FM before moving on to newer challenges, right now at Citizen TV she has always been a welcome view even during her KTN days and remains one of the respected young anchors on TV.

Gladys Gachanja

Long when Nation Fm had first changed to Easy Fm, hers was the voice everyone wanted to hear in the wee hours of the morning. She was as charming as she was inspirational, she has stayed with Nation but eventually making the step to the challenging TV anchor job, something she holds quite well whether partnered with Ombija or Masai. She still has that velvet voice and laid back charm of a radio presenter.

Kanze Dena

Having built quite a reputation as one of the most popular figures at Citizen Radio with quite a huge following, it seemed like a risk when she moved to the screen, but what a revelation she has become. Partnering with her best friend Lulu Hassan, it has been easily the best Swahili team on screen and she continues to take everything within her stride.

Victoria Rubadiri

Another from the Capital FM journalist conveyor belt, Victoria Rubadiri was the freshest thing to step on television at the time she did. She quickly formed one of the most envied chemistry on screen with Larry Madowo and even in her other different roles and her new show is quickly proving to be a favorite of many thanks to her charm.

Hers has to be one of the most pleasant smiles on screen today and refreshing every time it comes. Her smile is just an icing from a skill set that has been collected across quite a range of radio stations including Iqra FM and Kiss 100 and Classic 105. She then got a break in KTN and she has never looked back becoming a mainstay of the station.
