CABU GAH DIARIES: Rape Justification…What Is A Married Woman Doing At Another Man’s Office Past 10pm At Night?!?

I didn’t ask that question. Popular comedian and radio host,Churchill,did. He may have done it jocularly. Or to ignite an innocent conversation… But it flopped. Disastrously.

Comedian Churchill is nor the only man whose reasoning, after the alleged rape of a woman by Igembe MP Gideon Mwiti was warped. And illogical. After that very savage act,I had a chat with at least three male pals yesterday over lunch. And after I brought up that rape topic,their reasoning, very dumb reasoning,floored me.

Churchill,one of Kenya’s most respectable and venerated public figures stirred quite the hornet’s nest yesterday when he infamously asked,

“So,A Married Woman agrees to meet a honorable MALE MP at 10.30pm?? ALONE??”

Churchill even emphasized the words MALE and ALONE by capitalizing them…Well,he must have thought it was funny…But the joke was on him.

Given Churchill’s famously harmless nature and genial character,It would be easy to really pin him. And brand him a sexist. Or a warped male chauvinist.. But twitter users really did rail at him. Good and proper. In their wrathful droves.

If Churchill was to be plainly understood, comedic undertones aside,it would be that a married woman had herself set up her own fate for,despite the fact that she was married,and also a woman,deciding to show up at some other man’s office past 10pm.

If we have to take Churchill,or the men I had lunch with seriously, it would mean that THE BLAME was on the woman…For,despite her condition (sic),which is being a woman,she allowed herself to walk into a MAN’S office past 10pm.

Here’s the thing,Ladies. Next time You plan to stroll into some man’s office past 10pm,You are ripe for rape. No questions should be asked thereafter.

“Lakini wacha nikuulize Cabu Gah…Kama huyu dame alikuwa ameolewaaa…Anaduu mini na MP kwa ofisi yake saa nne usiku?” One of my male colleagues asked,matter-of-factly.

“Exactly! Mtu kama ameolewa akae home! Bwanako ako home na wewe uko tu nje kwa ofisi za Mambuyu. Boss,what do You expect!??” Another MALE pal of mine interjected.

“Huyu dame aseme ukweli…Kama ni deal ilienda mbaya aseme…Labda ni deal ilienda mbaya halafu anakam hapa kudai ati ame-rape-iwa…”

Well,I listened to these blokes debate. And watched how spiritedly they projected their objectionable theories. And cringed.

“Kama alikuwa ana-rape-iwa,alitoa time ya kutext bwanake wapi??” Another chauvinist posed…

Obviously,he forgot that rape is NOT like a seizure…that attacks You with no absolute warning or prior preparation. A rapist,it has been proved,will not perform his heinous act until after he has,consistently or systematically,led the girl on,enticed her,showed signs of amorousness and engineered unsolicited for sexual overtures for  a period of time. Which is exactly what Hon. Gideon Mwiti did before he ultimately pounced on the hapless girl,devouring her like the savage he is.

“Listen Up! There can NEVER be any justification for rape! Never! No matter where You were ..Or what she did…” I tried reasoning.

But my expositions were drowned by these pleasure-thirsty sexists to whom a woman is solely to blame for her rape.

I’ve never heard a more fallacious theory. Or sat through a more revolting debate. But I was shocked that,as it was published on this article yesterday,a huge section on social media was too blaming the lady for her tribulations.

Many shameless men,both on Twitter and Facebook,found no shame in questioning the integrity of the woman vis-à-vis the circumstances that led to her supposed rape…forgetting that,before the act was committed,this dishonorable member had first forcibly plied the woman with generous doses of alcohol against her own volition.

It was roundly agreed,by these packs of sexist hounds,that a woman would be HELD RESPONSIBLE if any sexual crimes were perpetrated AGAINST her.

I am yet to understand HOW the 5-year old girl that was raped in Embakasi by a Sudanese National-who was later shockingly released on bond-had enticed the demented,profligate refugee.

A man that’s bound to rape is bound to rape. Enticement or no.

A pervert doesn’t adhere to time or place or reason or conjecture. A pervert obeys his licentious urge…to grab,grop and rape. Anytime the urge pops up.

A rapist will do it when a woman’s fully clothed. And when she’s semi-clothed.

A rapist will do it when a woman’s 90-years old. And when she’s 5 years old.

A rapist will do it when the woman’s a relative and when she’s a stranger.

A rapist will do it when a woman’s attractive or otherwise.

These dogs are as stupid as the hounds supporting them.

THERE CAN NEVER BE ANY JUSTIFICATION FOR RAPE.

Whether she shows up at 10pm. Or 12am. If she says NO,then its a NO. Her attire notwithstanding. End of story.

So what was a MARRIED WOMAN doing at a very vile and dishonorable MP’s Office past 10pm?? Definitely NOT soliciting for a rape session.

Question answered.
