Caroline Mutoko Vs Larry Madowo. Who Is Telling The Truth? The Battle Is On!

Two great media personalities, Caroline Mutoko and Larry Madowo have waged a ferocious scuffle in a bid to convince their audiences digital migration is good/bad.

Who is telling the truth with their arguments? Caroline Mutoko on one side who is over excited with digital migration while Larry Madowo on the other hand calling it a ‘misinformation and analogue 3’.

After she took a dig on three disgruntled channels (NTV, KTN, Citizen TV) with her ‘Tyranny of Success’ video that went viral on YouTube, Caroline Mutoko is once again scolding the three discontented television channels.

In her latest video, ‘A Tantrum Gone Wrong’, the radio queen reminded the three they did a miscalculation by assuming their audiences would remain in darkness after they went off air.

“There is a lot of miscalculation on the part of the three media houses who figured mtatuona. Here is the thing, it’s not 1995, Moi isn’t in State House and there isn’t only one TV channel. We live in a world of so many options, it’s ridiculous! And TV and entertainment is also one of those!” Caroline explained.

She praised digital migration revealing how she was astonished to find out TV stations on digital platform anchoring prime time news in Luo and Kikuyu.

She further applauded K24 who she said were now boasting of being the ‘key players’ on digital platform reading news with chests high.

On his part, Larry Madowo went on a rampage with his article viciously attacking the bandwagon that fell for the new trick in the country, digital migration.

On his article, Larry sarcastically attacked Kenyans who he said have turned into a post doctorate-level expert on digital migration.

The NTV news anchor labelled all Kenyans who were ruthlessly attacking the three media house (Nation Media Group, Standard Media Group and Royal Media Service) on social media ‘The Analogue 3’.

“Airheads who don’t even know what DVBT2 stands for became overnight analysts on all matters digital migration, speaking with comical authority on why Nation, Standard and Royal Media were resisting change. ‘Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups,’ George Carlin once said. Looking at the vast wasteland of the Kenyan social media community, I finally understood what he meant.” Larry wrote in part.

Larry went on to explain the competition was on the content and not the platform used. He gave the example of M-Net’s East Africa-focused, Maisha Magic, which he said is being shut down only 5 Months after its inception due to floundering in ratings.

The revered anchor went on to clarify NTV, QTV, KTN and Citizen TV still had the mass appeal revealing the stations’ subscriptions dwindled the last time they tried using StarTimes and GoTV’s digital platforms.

“The forceful analogue switch-off was designed to force them(NTV, QTV, KTN and Citizen TV) into using these same providers(GoTV and StarTime) to reach viewers.” Wrote Larry.

So between Larry Madowo and Caroline Mutoko, who is telling the Truth? You decide.
