Classic 105, Kiss 100 Owner Donates 100M Worth of Airtime
Yes, you read right. 100 million Kenyan shillings worth of airtime is what Radio Africa’s owner Patrick Quarcoo pledged. But for a company that makes over 800 million a year (read about that HERE) and once tried to buy out the Standard newspaper, that’s just a drop in the ocean.
Last Friday, during the Harambee Stars sponsors call up dubbed, #Friendsofharambeestars, the Radio Africa CEO pledged a Sh100m worth of airtime on all Radio Africa platforms to Harambee Stars. The money will not be for making calls, no! but will be for running campaigns on the gleaming Radio Africa channels like Classic 105, Kiss 100, Radio Jambo among others.

Most people who were not at the event were taken aback by this revelation especially when the news broke out with some arguing that it was a typo for 100K and not 100M. While others thought it was a joke and a “fancy PR gimmick” like this guy;
“@Jmkmutuma: Thats senseless and fancy pr gimmick! Why not equip the guys and motivate them further? Thats a joke.”
He was advised that he needs to understand the value of publicity.
The event was also graced by Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero who personally pledged KSh1m for Harambee Stars.
