Controversial Artiste Attacks The Kenya Film Commission For “Banning” His Explicit Video

Controversial upcoming artiste Blaqy is at it again! After taking shots at musical bigwigs and accusing them of trading sex and money for airplay, he is now taking shots at the Kenya Film Classification Board.

This is after his video was classified as ‘restricted’ in other words rated 18 years and above but the artiste is mad that his song was “banned”

Blaqy came out, guns blazing and had this to say:

I, BLAQY will not consume the news lying down, until this matter is handled fairly and squarely. The coin has two sides same as any story out there and I believe there many artists out there who face the same hurdles and are either scared of consequences or are not courageous enough to speak up. Many will agree that, what I am saying is true and my facts are genuine. If it’s true what they say, that submitted content is sieved, as they want believed, does it mean that the rest of the content submitted by the thousands of artists countrywide is below par? Or is it a cartel to only enrich a few record houses and individuals who seem to only produce cliche’ content and consumers are made to believe it’s the best Kenya has to offer? I do not also understand the criteria followed by media houses as well as the Kenya Film Classification Board to totally restrict content. My argument is based on these facts;
How come there is so much foreign content in our media and other distribution channels, that is unpalatable and explicit in nature, Yet it’s still broadcasted?
Does it mean that it’s alright to have foreign music and programmes in the local media broadcasted, given the fact that viewership of the latter is very high due to the amount of ‘sex’ displayed and themes covered?
Does it mean that ‘sex’ sells so much that all leading media will make sure that their lineup must at least have a soap opera  or two to tap into this lucrative area? And is that why our media is full of foreign content with such material?

Why will KFCB always drop the hammer on local content and leave foreign material to earn high royalties and sales in the streets since such content has a large market?

Why doesn’t KFCB hence restrict all content that is termed explicit whether local or foreign without bias?i.e all foreign videos and movies termed as restricted on all media and distribution channels.
After ‘wolf of the wall street’ and ‘show me’ will KFCB give a restriction on this other songs like Bedroom bully,wine and kotch,pull up to mi bumper just to name a few.
If the answer is in the negative then, I challenge the Kenya Film Classification Board to overrule is decision to restrict my content and therefore allow viewership and broadcast of my song.
My opinion is, it is very unfair to publicize foreign content, which amounts to marketing and publicity which then in terms of business is big money that is enjoyed largely by the foreign artists and a few local entities, leaving a majority of our very own in a deplorable state. My voice speaks for volumes who are not able to come out due to different reasons. I ask all the relevant parties to rise to the occasion and do what is just support local content.
I rest my case.

I have used one million then they burn (SIC)my music why have they not burned (SIC) Jamaica song  Naija and soap opera
