Dennis Itumbi Pleads For Mercy On Allan Wadi
As we speak, Allan Wadi, the Moi University political science student who disrespect a public officer and spread hate speech through his social media accounts, is still languishing in a cell somewhere near or in Kitengela after he was convicted to a two-year jail term.
And now Dennis Itumbi, the director of digital communication in the office of the president, has pleaded with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to extend an Olive branch to the student, as they did to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
Kuria is accused of perpetuating hate speech and has a case to answer but NCIC has asked him to apologise publicly for his actions.
This is what Itumbi wants extended to Wadi, even as he serves his two-year jail term.

Itumbi said:
“To the Kenyan Judiciary,
Following the decision by NCIC to allow my friend @Hon. Moses Kuria to apologize publicly as provided by the act (I am told)….I then hold that the same standard should be extended to the Lieutenant…Mr.Wadi.
For the record as a good friend am happy Hon.Kuria has reached an amicable solution.
But as a person holding a Public office, I have maintained for a long time that it was unfair to criticize the State and accuse it of double standard.
I argued that in the case of Hon.Moses Kuria he was arrested& charged in a court of law, just like Wadi.
Given that the decision by NCIC is grounded in law, then to be fair in perception and fact…NCIC should give the same chance to Wadi.
Just to be clear, I am referring only to the First Count of Hate speech under NCIC Act.
I may be wrong. If I am, go ahead and correct me, I am listeninģ to your feedback…”
