Despite Losing Most of Its Top Journalists To K24, Citizen TV is Still The Station To Beat: Poll
Citizen TV may have suffered the most casualties during the recent media poaching but the SK Macharia-owned TV station is still the most viewed in the country, according to the latest poll results from Ipsos Synovate.
As per the opinion poll conducted in May, Citizen TV still leads in viewership in the Kenya with a 37% margin with its closest rival KTN. The poll also indicates that Citizen TV’s ratings have gone up again to 50% while K24’s has dipped by 3% and is the only one with dropped rating since the rest are either improving or maintaining the same ratio.
The poll shows that K24’s re-branding and subsequent poaching of journalists has not had any instant effect, but it will remain to be seen whether it will in future.
