Did Akon Buy President Uhuru An Armored Mercedes Worth Kes 32.7 Million? (Photos)

Coughing Kes 32.7 million to buy an African President a bulletproof Mercedes Sprinter isn’t a big deal for pop superstar Akon, not at all. The dude is worth 7.4 billion, he can afford to get rid of some loose change!

Akon has decided to purchase an armored 2014 Mercedes Sprinter as a gift for an African President. According to American celebrity gossip site TMZ, the Senegalese-born singer ordered the van from a Florida-based Auto firm last year.

The singer hinted the van was a gift for an African President though he never said which one. This has ignited speculation as to which African leader was lucky enough to be gifted with the armored ride.

Of late, Akon increased his trips to the continent. He also rolled out an ambitious project to power one million African homes.

His ambitious project saw him meet our very own President. Their first meeting was in 2014 during U.S-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington. Akon met Uhuru on the sidelines of the conference and promised to visit Kenya which he did.

But that wasn’t the first time Akon actually showed he had a liking for the President, the singer was also the first international celebrity to congratulate Uhuru after winning the tightly contested 2013 presidential election.

The last time Akon visited Kenya, during Airtel Trace Music grand Finale last month, he told members of the fourth estate he was Unye’s close buddy.

Back to the intriguing question; which African President did Akon buy the bulletproof Mercedes for? Could it be Uhuru?

Then again I have come to think of it, Uhuru already has an armored personnel carrier. He caused a stir with it during last year’s Madaraka Day celebration at Nyayo stadium. Why does he need an addition bulletproof van?

Could Akon have bought Uhuru the Kes 32.7 Million van? Can’t blame me for speculating, there are tell tale signs all over. We tried reaching the president’s office to no avail.

Akon has also been close with other African Presidents, the van he bought could as well be a gift to any of them.
