Eddie Kimani’s Actors Monologue Challenge Is Back.

We wrote about the inaugural Actors Monologue challenge in January and the second edition is back.

To be held on 26th March on 26th at Club Sylk, The Actors Monologue Challenge starts at 7pm! This event is organized by Capital Fm’s Eddie Kimani and it promises to be even more exciting than the first! Entrance is only 300 shs. Last time, Nairobi’s best theatre & film actors battled out for the main championship prize which was the title and 7,000 Ksh cash among other  prizes.

16 actors are selected to battle it out, and it lasts three hours. There’s an audience choice competition where the audience selects the best performance. Each performs for three minutes. For this category, 8 people register on the day, on a first come first serve basis. The next category is the main event, where established actors are judged by a panelists consisting of some of the most experienced personalities in the industry. Each performance here lasts three minutes. 

Sharlyn Mungai was the inaugural winner beating over 15 actors to take  the main prize, 7,000 Ksh. She also got a certificate, a professional photography session, and acting classes with a leading actors coach here in Kenya. Carol Oywa took the second place with a dramatic display that riveted the audience while Chris Wangalwa scooped the 3rd place.

Brian Ogolla was the first Audience Choice Competition after a hotly contested audience based battle winning an automatic pass to the second edition of the AMC and a professional photography session, acting classes with a leading actors coach here in Kenya.
