It’s been 175 years since Robert Cornelius took the first known selfie and 1& _3/4 centuries later the internet has become  infatuated with this trend.

Kenyan Politicians, media personalities and musicians are getting in on the trend and it seems that ‘selfies’ are not dying anytime soon. So before I get to the story, what exactly is a selfie? Urban dictionary describes it as “pictures taken of oneself while holding the camera at arm’s length.”
