Emmy Kosgei Lands Lucrative Government Job. Nigeria Or Kenya? Here Is The Story
The celebrated gospel singer is still going places, after rising from nowhere to fame. Her fame was even ignited more when she fell in love with a Nigerian man and finally tied the knot as husband and wife.
Her migration to Nigeria does not, however, mean that Emmy’s connections with Kenya were cut short. She is still highly regarded and held with big esteem as a daughter of the land.
This explains why the Kenyan government has offered the veteran gospel singer a job with one of the powerful ministries in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.
Emmy will be as from today Kenya’s national and global ambassador for tourism and cultural activities.
This means that Emmy has an uphill task to restore the tourism sector that once boasted the status of being among the best in the world before insecurity and terrorist attacks threatened its growth.
Foreign tourists have been given travel advisories by their governments after Kenya was deemed insecure state following attacks by Al-Shabaab insurgents, notably the Westgate Mall attack.
Emmy will therefore grapple with the task of restoring the pride Kenya enjoyed during those days.
