Family of 87 Year Old Granny Imprisoned Over Allegedly Stealing Chairs Get Emotional after Sonko Rescued Her
Kenyans became keyboard warriors fighting online for the release of an 87-year-old woman remanded after she was accused of stealing two plastic chairs worth 700 Kshs.
The old lady, Risper Ongwena, is now a free woman thanks to the intervention of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko, Migori politician Solomon Odoh and Nairobi Mike Sonko.
The Sonko rescue team accompanied by Solomon settled the Ksh5,000 cash bail and the woman was wheeled into a rescue van and taken to her house where the team got her a lot of shopping after her release.

Here is the emotional reaction her family had following the rescue:
Mama Naomi I’m very Humbled.
